I am so sorry that you are feeling such guilt and shame. But I have good news! Regardless of the terrible things you or I may have done, Jesus Christ in His love shed His blood on a cross for those sins. He even made it clear that the reason – the ONLY reason – He came was for sinful people to be forgiven and made whole.

When Jesus died on the cross, in an accounting that could only be explained by the grace and love of God, he received the judgment – the penalty – for your and my sin. He went through your “hell” for you!

That leaves you with a decision to make… will you accept His free gift of love? You can’t earn it. You can’t “fix” yourself. But you CAN be completely forgiven by God for EVERY sin you have ever committed. All it requires is a willingness to turn away from sin and to choose to accept Christ as your Lord (boss) and Savior (your sin bearer).

Some people suggest praying a prayer, but it isn’t the prayer that saves you. It is the faith you exercise in Christ to forgive you and give you eternal life. But if you would like to express your faith in the FORM of a prayer, you can pray something like:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. But I am willing to turn from my sins and live the life you want me to life. Come into my life, Lord Jesus. I surrender my all to you. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I accept your gift of forgiveness and eternal life. Amen.”
