Having been a spiritual zombie and a chaser of Idols for the last 30 plus years I can tell you with great certainty there is nothing like the “real deal” No amount of drugs, money or other worldly things can compare to christ, although I do understand how easy it is to get sucked into wanting for ourselves.

Andy, I can certainly relate to this one. I tend to live in constant bombardment from the Spirit vs. the Flesh (for they are at war, correct?!). It is a battle that continues on as I try to die daily. But, as a pastor once told me, even when we "kill" the flesh through Christ, in this life, we still drag the dead corpse around with us. And every once in a while, we want to resuscitate him. Faced with pure Light, pure Truth, pure ALL WE NEED, we turn around and choose the stuff of this world. As C.S. Lewis said, instead of a day at the beach, we'd rather stay in the muddy street making mud pies. Matties last blog post..This is gross, I know, but bear with me...
