Oh, my Father, I enter into Your presence in the name of Jesus to express my eternal gratitude to you.
Thank You for ACCESS – the unfathomable privilege of entering directly into Your presence.
Thank You for BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE – those wonderful growth experiences that look at first like obstacles or curses.
Thank You for CHILDREN – for the ways they remind us that You are big, life is good, and pleasing You isn’t all that complicated.
Thank You for DREAMERS – those who saw the possibilities when no one else did, and who risked failure to make their dreams come true.
Thank You for EXAMPLES – for people who are just as willing to practice as they are to preach.
Thank You for FREEDOM – to worship, to obey, to live, to serve, to vote, to speak, to love.
Thank You for Your GUIDANCE – that “the ways of a good man are ordered of the Lord.”
Thank You for Your HEALING – that whether it’s here for a season or there for eternity, You’re still the Great Physician.
Thank You for IMAGINATION – for the miracles that can happen with a pen, a crayon, or a picture in the mind.
Thank You for JESUS CHRIST – the Second Adam, our Great High Priest, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Thank You for LAUGHTER – Your built-in therapy of the heart.
Thank You for MISSIONARIES – the modern-day foot soldiers of the Kingdom.
Thank You for NEEDS – those daily reminders of Your great sufficiency and care.
Thank You for OPPORTUNITIES – those doors that continue to open up for us, even when we have failed in the past.
Thank You for PARENTS – living or dead, who gave us life and left a trail before us that we could either follow or forsake.
Thank You for QUIET TIMES – when I can remember what the wind sounds like when it blows through the pines, when I can be still and know You are God.
Thank You for REST – for the way you restore my strength, and the irreplaceable comfort of my own bed.
Thank You for SALVATION – for the forgiveness of past sins, power over present sin, and deliverance from future sin.
Thank You for TEACHERS – who worked, studied, and gave themselves in order to make me a better person.
Thank You for UNITY – for the all-too-rare and unique joy of being one in heart with another person.
Thank You for WEAKNESS – the only sure way to connect with Your supernatural power.
Thank You for XENOPHILES – those who reach across cultural, racial, and political barriers and love others who are different. God, give us more!
Thank You for YEARS – filled with seasons, sunshine, and surprises, each one a little shorter, it seems, than the one before.
Thank You for ZEAL – for giving us a cause worth dying for and a life worth being spent for that cause.
